About Library


The Sowards Memorial Library is operated by one librarian and two assistants. Also a part time worker helps the library works. The Dewey Decimal Classification system is used. The classified catalogue cards are filed as follows: subject, title, author, shelf-list. Now computerized. At the beginning of the academic year, the new classis orientated for the use of the library. Rules and regulations of the library are noticed. The library serves as an information centre for acquiring theological, biblical knowledge, social sciences, religious knowledge, language and literature is open to all churches, students and staff of the school and related organizational bodies.

Rules & Regulation

01. Full members are faculty and students. Full time ministers in Falam e.g. FCMF and part time research students can also apply for associate member.
02. Circulation books may be drawn from the library for 7 days and may be renewed once for the same period. If booked during their loan cannot be renewed.
03. Full members can check out 3 books (5 for senior and research students) at a time. Check in/out is to be made before 3:45 pm at the circulation counter with loan card. Loan Card is not transferable.
04. Borrowers are responsible for any damage done to the volumes while in their possession.
05. Reserve books are located on the Reserve Book Shelf according to the name of Faculty. Reserve Books are only allowed to use in the Library but in non-office hour Faculty Members may check out according to their necessity.
06. A fine of 500 kyats will be charged a day on each book which are over due.
07. Library Hour: Monday to Friday 9:00AM -4:00PM, Saturday 9:00Am-12:00 noon
08. New books are displayed on displaying Shelf for one week. Students can check and reserve ahead if needed.
09. Special Collections are restricted materials. Users need to have permission from the librarian(s).
